I composed this music to the beautiful words of Walter Burch. Walter and I wanted crickets and birds for the recording so Walter bought a "nature sounds" CD, which I wasn't very happy with. We had decided that we probably would just forget about nature sounds on the track. Then, while mixing "The Sound of Creation" up in the Malibu mountains, with Richard Kaplan and Chuck Johnson at the famous Indigo Ranch Studio, we all realized we heard birds outside, so Chuck ran out with a Neumann U47 microphone and placed it on the ground - as we were mixing, live- and as we continued to mix and record the outside sounds, the crickets started up, too, because the afternoon had become the early evening. Studio & Nature Magic! It's all there in this song. Fun!

THE SOUND OF CREATION
(Strider/Burch)
(Sung) The Sound___ of Creation____
The Sound___ of Creation____
(spoken): Sittin’ alone listenin' to The Sound of Creation
Hearin’ whoops and hollers and yells
Echo’n back and forth the hills
Sittin’ alone listenin' to The Sound of Creation
Hearin’ laughter and there we see
God’s children like you, and me
Sittin’ alone listenin' to The Sound of Creation
Reachin’ back through all the ages
Hand in hand, one story, many pages
Sittin’ alone listenin' to The Sound of Creation
Hearin’ tales of joy and sorrow
We stare and smile and cry with those
Whose true story creation always knows
(sung) The Sound of Creation
(Musical Interlude featuring real birds and crickets recorded in real time)
(Sung) The Sound of Creation
(Spoken) Sittin’ alone listenin' to The Sound of Creation
Reachin’ back through all the ages
Hand in hand, one story, many pages
Sittin’ alone listenin' to The Sound of Creation
Hearin’ hearts beat along with ours
Feeling the eternal power
Please let these sounds forever tie
All living things, hear and high
(sung) ...of Creation
