about

In the Days of Quarantine is a love song by Jon Strider and Robin Factor, written while sheltering-in-place in Santa Rosa, California during the early days of the pandemic of 2020. This true story of two lovers, describing their daily life under quarantine - and their discovery of what’s really important in life - uplifts listeners with its message of hope and gratitude.

The song was first recorded on an iPhone and posted to Facebook, where it caught the attention of Swedish music production maestro Amir Aly who'd worked with Strider previously. “Send me the recording,” Amir said, “I have an idea."

Amir, working in Sweden, proceeded to create a fully realized instrumental version of the song with bass, drums, guitars, keyboards and that special touch of sonic wizardry for which he’s known. Meanwhile, back in California, Jon and Robin proceeded to record vocal and guitar tracks in a socially-distanced session with Blair Hardman at Zone Recording, Cotati. These tracks were then sent back to Sweden to be mixed by Amir.
The song was mastered by Paul Mahern in Bloomington, Indiana.
This all happened within 2 weeks time, with a “does Jon have the virus” scare thrown in (...he didn’t) during vocal tracking...just to keep things exciting.

New Sky Records is proud to share IN THE DAYS OF QUARANTINE with the world. A heart-warming anthem for troubled times.

Please listen, and by all means, buy the track if you enjoy it, which you can do so easily do here on the Bandcamp site.

Your support is greatly needed and appreciated.

IN THE DAYS OF QUARANTINE
(c) April 17, 2020 Robin Factor & Jon Strider

We waltzed around the kitchen,
And tantra-cized in bed
We took long walks, had very deep talks
And purged the storage shed
Neighbors came by and we said “Hi!”
With 6 feet in between
And this is how we passed the time
In The Days of Quarantine

We worked out in the garden
And cleaned the closet shelves
We pulled some weeds and planted seeds
Took good care of ourselves
We sprouted sprouts
And painted the house
And analyzed our dreams
And this is how we passed the time
In The Days of Quarantine

As the world around us fell apart
We held each other tight
And kept our faith that someday
Everything would come out right

We kept our social distance from the avalanche of news
We took long naps and steamy hot baths
Went easy on the booze
We weathered fear and rumor
And kept our heads serene
And this is how we passed the time
In The Days of Quarantine

As the world around us fell apart
We held each other tight
And kept our faith that someday
Everything would come out right

So, when life as we know it crumbled apart
We found out what it means
To have some one to hold to
In The Days of Quarantine
To have someone to hold you
In The Days of Quarantine
